My parents celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary today.
They met while teaching at Charlotte High School. They bought a house in the Maplewood neighborhood, where they raised two children. They sent their kids to city schools.
I got my love of the city from my parents, especially my dad. He has encyclopedic knowledge of the city’s history. He knows every single street. He hates when TV news reporters say they’re reporting live from Brighton or Greece, when they’re actually within city borders.
I hope to give more families the opportunity to stay in our city, invest in our schools and thrive. Rochester has so much to offer. It will take big picture thinking and courage to reach our potential. That’s why I’m running for mayor.
I’m blessed to have such wonderful parents cheering me on. Happy Anniversary!
